When the whole Jatra para was busy with making propaganda based players , then we decided to make a play called Nati Binodini. The title Nati Binodini was a big accident. Still there's a lot of stories left to tell about this play. In our first blueprint in 1972 there were only three characters Binodini, Girish Ghosh and Ramkrishna, also Kamal Mitra joined us in the same year. Previously Kamal Mitra have done the role of Girish Ghosh in the play Sri Thakur Ramkrishna and Sarodamoni.

Sakher Ganguly acted there as Ramkrishna. It was a massive hit and everyone played Dedicatedly. They add short lyrics with the dialog, the most attractive part in the play, it was an amazing experience I went through from the viewer’s seat. As an example from the play Girish Ghosh asks a Sadhu, what do you do? Sadhu replies im a student, Girish Ghosh Replies- “we are called students, that kind of cold and short conversations make the play more glorious, a heavy credit goes to kamal mitra to make it that big.

After watching Sri Thakur Ramkrishna and Saradamoni I also wanted to make a Jatra on Girish Ghosh, then I approached Brajendra Kumar for writing and he refused very rudely and immediately stated it was impossible. In his year he doesn't give us any books or plays. I also take it easily. In 1971 he decided to give us Two books, two plays! ‘Krishna and Shakuni’ and ‘Adhare Musafir’ (musafir in Darkness). Both were massive hits. A fresh new interaction started to be born from then with Brajendra. Then I again approached him to write a play on Girish ghosh and he agreed. He started to write on it. Then I got informed of a play on Girish Ghosh already done by New Arya Opera titled Bhakta Bhairav Girishchandra. Director Bidhyak Bhattacharya. Panchu Sen acted as Girish Ghosh. Brajrndra gets excited after hearing about it and says, I’m looking afraid? I’ll write about it. Why did I stop writing about it? Anyone can write on it. Finally the writing has started and dates are coming closer, without deciding the name we can't make an advertisement. I'm visited again to Brajendrakumar to decide the title of the pay, he proposed three or four names to choose one of them, I take all of them back with me, still I don’t like anyone of it but I don’t have enough courage to tell it, if he get anger on me and stop writing. Then I visited one of my friends, Santi Ranjan de for further suggestions. He is a per time Jatra actor, then we discuss the title of the play again and I show him that titles which was given by Mr. Brajendra. Then Santi told me to title it Nati Binodini and it will hit the market. I liked the title suggestion and fixed it as the title for the play. Then I get to know from my peers, Natibinodini Pala has already been done by Silpi Tirtha Jatra Trup and Jochona Dutta plays Binodini. I got into trouble again, it’s not possible to perform a different Jatra with the same title. What is the way then? I published an advertisement with a Bengali Regular News paper.

After publishing the title in a paper my friend, journalist Prodhbondhu Adhikari called me and said it’s not possible to play two Jatra with the same name, so we must stop the play. I lost my patience and told him, we will do that Jatra and see where destiny takes us. " Suddenly he re-releases an advertisement and Silpi Tirtha titled it “Ranga Nati Binodini”. We Release again the advertisement on Newspaper, again Silpi Tirtha Release another advertisement and titled it same “Nati Binodini”.
It’s created enough controversy in Jatra colony and everyone talks about it. “Who will do better? Silpi Tirtha, With Jochna Dutta or Natta Company’s Bina Dasgupta. Everyone also compares Bina Dasgupta with Jochna Dutta as Jochona was a senior performer in the field. Then I got the script from Mr Brajendra and gave it to Suraj’s Dutta to read it. Surja uncle always loved to listen to the story from others, so Sudhir who is the actor from our community will reach there and Surya uncle Listen it carefully. After completing it, Surja uncle says if we do 50% of the script then it will be a great hit and it will be a top selling book. If Bina will play 50% of the script then the Pala will achieve the high.

And the play was a great hit and we are all satisfied with it. I decided to participate in the state Jatra Festival. We need to fill up the form with two play’s. But this year, our company did not produce two Jatra. At that moment one of our friends, Sachin Bhattacharya, helped me a lot. With his assistance we sent the Nati Binodini for the Jatra Festival and it was performed as a forced play of the festival. Then it becomes a legend. After the announcement of the Jatra festival We get to know that Nati Binodini won the first prize and Bina Dasgupta was awarded as Best actress. Then Bina Dasgupta get a big break in the industry.
When we go back to our walk with the Moto it has to be a big hit on the industry. In this year in the summer season our actor Mr. Arun fall down sick and the whole play has been stopped in the early season. Still we don’t stop the play, finally in monsoon time from the Rath Yatra, we started to rehashed for Nati Binodini. There was some misunderstanding and conflicts Are take place between me and Mr. Arun regarding distribution of characters. He wants to give the role of Ramakrishna to popular actor Nirmal Adhikari, and I want Dipen Chattopadhyay to play the role. Then me and Mr Arun went to Mr Brajendra, when Dipen go out for a moment, I requested Mr Brijendra to handle the situation, he assured me of my decision. When Arun enters the room Brajendra says that the rule should be played by Mr Dipen. Still Arun was not convinced by the decision, then Brajendra says Nirmal should play the role of Rasaraj Character. Both of us don't cross Brijenda babu’s decision then Arun gets convinced. After the distribution of characters, we don’t delay to start the rehearsal again. With many contradictions and conflicts, Arun don’t bother about it and give his Best to the play. Arun stood the details of the character to Dipen. When we are almost ready, we suddenly realize we don’t select anyone for the character of Panna and it’s a woman character. Then we choose Jharna for the character of Panna , she’s from our production and she play the character gracefully with her brilliant acting, singing and dancing Skills. One women call me separately to tell “ this play will takes me far away”.
