Summary: After the advent of the Green Revolution, the use of chemical fertilizers and hybrid seeds saw an increase. Also, we started losing our traditional seeds. The farmers of Madhya Pradesh were also not left untouched by this. Gram Sudhar Samiti (GSS) started a unique initiative to reduce the dependency of farmers on the market in Sidhi district.

In the Sidhi District, Gram Sudhar Samiti (GSS), undertook a watershed management project to address the severe water scarcity affecting Khera, Kota, Dadri and Lurghuti village. With no reliable water source, the communities faced daily hardships and agricultural losses. The NGO initiated a comprehensive plan, collaborating with the local residents. The project involved constructing check dams, contour trenches, and farm ponds to capture rainwater and recharge groundwater. Additionally, the NGO organized awareness programs on water conservation, along with providing additional help in livelihood management. This film shows how through effective implementation of watershed management techniques, the project successfully revived water sources, helped overcome water crisis, while improving the socio-economic condition of the villagers.
