Summary: Older generations are now beginning to recognise the changes in the landscape and with it the changes in biodiversity, including drops in numbers of bird and animal populations. The last decade has been witness to widespread habitat loss, including fragmentation of habitat and an increase in hunting. With an aim to address issues related to sustainability and biodiversity conservation the Foundation for Ecological Security (FES) works along with Village Councils in Peren, Phek and Zunheboto districts strengthening socio-ecological systems from inside out.
