Gurubai, you remember the time you were on hunger strike for the struggle?

After that struggle you got a home here.

We were 3 of us from the basti. Then there was Anand Patwardhan.

We were 5 of us.

Did Anand come to SRA?
- No. We'd called him. But he was in Pune then.

I'd invited him once, but he was busy...

We do wish to meet him again.

Shabana wasn't here either.

He met me but I told him off.

Because many people photograph or film us, and the next day our homes are demolished anyway.

So I opposed him and sent him away a few times.

After that there was a Kerala man with him.

He explained to me a second time and then I got it.

Than Anand Patwardhan took interest and madam....

Madam was in Garden School.

When Sanjay Gandhi Nagar talks of demolitions were on, and he was a big official. You used to go to his home? - Yes.

So he never spoke to you about it, or asked you about it? - No, he never asked anything.

Even when sitting on strike, I used to bathe there for those five days.

My daughter was young, she would do their housework then.

I would bathe, wash clothes there only. Here it was a fully open space, so that's why I would bathe there only.
