CMH road, Metro Construction Site, Bangalore
tape 8a.mov
This happens to be one of our first few shoots which looks at the construction of metro at CMH road. These tapes have elaborate sequences of workers building the bridge on which the train can move.

A detailed look at the construction of Metro on CMH road, Indiranagar. The shoot focuses on a night of construction. We found many adjoining terraces of shops that lined the street of CMH road, on which we could mount our camera and document this site in detail. We made short portraits of workers in labour and at leisure. We followed the various strange objects lifted by large cranes in a steady delicate manner through all the scaffolding. There was something theatrical being in the midst of this construction. This shoot also gave us an idea on how we can work out perspective between objects used for construction, the scale of the architecture vis-a-vi the men employed on it. The shoot also informed us the way we could use the lighting on site as a cinematic device to expose the construction sites as fictional sets on which we could impose stories of ghosts, love, home and labour upon.
