Cheyyur Ultra Mega Power Project is a proposed 4000 MW coal fired thermal power plant proposed in the region of Cheyyur, Tamil Nadu. This is 100 kms from Chennai and 50 kms from Puducherry. A study done by Community Environmental Monitoring done in July 2014 looks at the impact of this proposed project on water and agriculture in the region.
