INT. ALIYA'S HOUSE - DAY
Aliya comes through the front door. She feels for the door key and pulls it out of the lock.
Sitting on a shelf, she takes off her sling bag and sets it down. The shelf slopes upward with a series of hooks protruding off the edge. She fixes her cane on one of the hooks. Two small showpiece lanterns - with orange and blue glass dangle nearby.
She walks to her bedroom.

InT. ALIYA'S bedroom
Aliya is seated at her desk. Her tab has opened up into a laptop and lies on the table. She has a pile of envelopes on her lap. She opens up the first. The letter she pulls out has been printed in braille. Her fingers skim quickly over the embossing.
The next letter she opens is in regular print. She fixes it to an overhead scanner that connects to a Refreshable Braille Display. Characters can be made out as round-tipped pins emerging through holes from a flat surface. She scrolls from one line to the next with the help of a small dial. She traces the patterns with her fingers as they rise.
At a braille embosser, she punches in a few commands on tactile buttons. She holds her hand out for the paper as the printer rattles it out.
Moving back to her chair, she sits down to read the letter.
