INT. DINING AREA - NIGHT A female server walks in with a plate of salad. Aliya and her extended family are at a dining table. She sits beside her father as the rest of them banter. ALIYA Dad, where's grandpa? ALIYA'S FATHER He will be sitting in his chair. She sits up and holds on to a young boy. AlIYA Shyamal, take me to grandpa. Shyamal Yeah. He walks her to a lounge area that looks out at a grove of apartment buildings. Vinay is with her grandfather, laughing hysterically and smoking a cigarette. The old man is sitting back in a chair. AlIYA Grandpa. Should we go? Grandpa Kuch award mila? (Did you get an award?) ALIYA Ji? (What?) GRANDPA Sirf trophy mili? Ya kuch cash bhi mila?
