PC: This is Prabhu Chawla. Where is Amar Singh, yaar?
O: Yes sir, one minute.
PC: Honorable Amar Singhji.
Am: Yes, I have a press [conference] at 12.
PC: Please listen to me. You have also published it in the newspaper today, in Hindustan Times.
PC: You have said that you will file a case if we don't apologize.
PC: [laughs] There are such big political developments happening, you got the CW to resign. Why should it go from 12. This is of a political interest. I promise you that we will work on it.
Am: Then we will release at 12. What can we do?
PC: No, you are in politics also, no? I am not talking to you as a editor.
PC: I have been at the shooting since the morning. Interviewing Natwar Singh, Sonia Gandhi.
Am: Whoever you might take [interview], I am telling as a brother
PC: I am asking you to sit down for a statement... please listen to me, Amar Singhji.
PC: I respect your sentiments. I had promised saab
. I haven't been able to speak to Arun Kaul yet. Please don't tell anyone.
[continues] I am telling you because I trust you.
Am: When this thing will fizzle out, you people will...
PC: We will not Fizzle out. It has to be cut and then run non-stop: network, parliament, everything.
PC: I haven't even slept. I have been standing here since the morning. I don't know if you have noticed me.
PC: I have been running it. Let me speak to him once. After that, do what you have to. Aroon Purie is with you and so am I.
PC: You want it to be done nicely, as do we. But converting it into a legal confrontation...
Am: Tell me this, when it comes to a scam, keeping your sympathies aside, do people believe us when there is a meeting?
PC: But I had stopped it after putting up a fight, no? Even this time I will fight.
Am: But all this has already been carried.
PC: After it was carried...
Am: We have already been insulted. They intruded here. It's very difficult to find someone.
PC: You are absolutely right, Amar Singhji. All I am saying is... I had told you I will get back to you.
PC: Till the point there is a discussion on how to carry it - and it will be the first time it will be run, if at all - as long as the matter doesn't reach the office...
Am: Either Aroon Purie does not have so much decency and asks us for a favour.
PC: No no, he will talk to you. He won't ask for a favour.
Am: Hello? This matter is not political. Sometimes you talk of the scam, sometimes of a relief from a scam.
AM: We do scams all the time and you all fuck the journalist ethics. You enter people's homes, their bedrooms. Hello?
PC: No, you are right. I am not saying anything. I am one of...
Am: He's genuinely very much upset. You will come to know when he is healthy...hello?...by his behaviour.
AM: And bad relationship with Amitabh Bachchan for no rhyme or reason is not good...
PC: ...no rhyme or reason. I agree with you.
PC: But, what I am telling is, the issue today is.. God will give Amitabh Bachchan a long life and he will be prepared for a long battle. But today the issue is, whenever there is a story in Aaj Tak from now on, you...
Am: Ask them to cover the one at 12 o'clock.
PC: That I will but please don't talk to anyone. Every newspaper carries our conversations.
PC: Yesterday it was on Channel 7 and today, Hindustan Times carried it saying there was a notice issued... that a notice will be given if there is no apology.
PC: I will, of course, carry what you will say on Volgar. But from now on, please don't speak about the notice. Main haath jod raha hoon aapke aage
(I pray to you).
Am: If you say that, how can I talk about it?
PC: Yes, I pray to you.
Am: No, now the matter is over.
PC: You are a big brother to me. I am using my right as a brother.
Am: The case is closed. But when we pray to you, nobody listens.
PC: But I am with you. I will be by your side and fight.
Am: No, no. Even we pray sometimes that there was a scam and the Supreme Court forgave us.
PC: Yes, and we had run it.
PC: Now let that be. Aroon Purie will come to the office after the afternoon...
Am: I mean, either you are a friend...
PC: I am a friend in this case, at the moment
Am: Then behave like a friend. Or you are a fucker. Then be prepared to get fucked.
PC: I wish I had the editorship of Aaj Tak. I could have seen what to do...
Am: Boss, you are asking for our goodwill for Aaj Tak, no?
PC: Yes. The day it gets printed in India Today, I will resign.
Am: I am sorry, but didn't you ask for a veto for Aaj Tak today?
PC: Let me speak to them. I will withdraw my veto afterwards.
Am: That's the thing. You asked for Aaj Tak, haven't you?
PC: Yes, yes.
Am: That's not a small matter. A veto, an elder brother's veto, is not a small matter. It's about relationships...
PC: I did so because what happened to you is unfair. And I...
Am: You know I am a rascal of a person. Everyone present has written that. We are out to fuck even Nasmi
PC: I will call you from where you will be in Lucknow. Till then, I will speak to Aroon and get it done.
PC: Meanwhile, take it from Natwar's job. You are after it, so am I.
Am: No, I am after Sonia
PC: You didn't hear me. I said, it will come on Sonia
PC: So where are you? I am sending the camera and get it done.
Am: Copernicus lane
PC: Yes, I am sending him.
PC: Now please don't talk about that. This chapter is between Aaj Tak and myself and we will take care of it.
Am: Okay, I won't.
PC: Okay. Thank you.
