Summary: We had just begun our journey. We were excited to be out and travelling and had only one camera between the two of us. We would take turns to film. This was iswars first time handling a camera, so most of the footage is incredibly shaky and quite ‘pointless’. We really hadn’t decided what we were going to film or how we were going to go about it. So we pretty much filmed whatever we felt like filming and whatever seemed interesting. Every now and then we would feel we are not filming enough, so it will kick start a whole series of random walking shots. Walking through streets, walking up steps, down slopes, from one door to the other, you get the drift.
There would have been a lot more of these, but luckily we were also taking photos of these beautiful old hand painted signage’s around the market place so that meant the camera was being used more to take photos.
After walking a lot we decided to try the usual touristy thing and visited the Mehrangarh fort. It’s quite a lovely space and very well maintained. Every now and then Anushka would ask but why are you filming this or what are you going to do with it. And of course Iswar’s reply would be how does it matter its digital so what do we lose, maybe it will be useful. But how are you going to cut it? Do you have a story in mind? If you do then we need to plan it and shoot other things that are needed to complete the story. Arrey baba how does it matter, dekh lenge na!! Obviously nothing much came of it and we didn’t end up using any of what we filmed here in any of our edits.
