The celebration of Independence Day
Afghans celebrate two Independence Days - one for the military on the 1st of Sunbula and one for education, on the 2nd day of Sunbula. The other big celebration is Navroz and the day after that is celebrated as a day for farmers. During the communist period, women and girls would always outnumber the men. This was their strategy, to bring women to the fore.
