Course of election of representatives for the first Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) of the Republican Government
On basis of principle values of 26th Saratan (17th July) Revolution, which stands on national powers; our country's progressive leadership decided that first Loya Jirga (Grand Assembly) of our advanced republic should be formed. Government of progressive republic, under guidance of their revolutionary leader, Head of Government and Prime Minister - His Highness Mohammad Daud Khan, consider the nation as source of national sovereignty and source of all powers. For this purpose, in order for our nation to play its role in progressive history, elections for first assembly started all over the country.
This is Sher Shah Mina. People overwhelmingly pray for long life and good health of their leader among chanting thousands of slogans. Representatives stand among people in a very peaceful and democratic atmosphere and they are democratically elected directly by people on national and humanitarian basis.
Glorious history of our country is evident that during their life span, our people have always shown interest from the bottom of their hearts their hearts to take other people's opinion as consultation as a big support for synchronizing their social and cultural life.
On the basis of the same principle, people also elected their representative with lots of happiness and excitement, here in Shar-e-Now park area.
People would meet their representatives with all liberty and authority. Candidates would stand before people and people would cast their votes for them as per their identification, for historical grand assembly (Loya Jirga) which is scheduled to be held on 10th of Dalwa (29th January).
That day Zarnigar Park witnessed a huge gathering of residents of Kabul City. This crowd chanting slogans and expressing excitement proved our national leader's speech, where he had said, "as I had announced in my first speech, we would unfurl our flag for our country's upcoming prosperity, and real and subjective democracy of our republic as its base is strongly standing on services of most people of Afghanistan; and we would seek God's help in fulfilling all requirements of principles of the national sovereignty. Residents of Kabul arranged a grand march on 26th Saratan Avenue, Partaman Road of this historic city for electing their representatives for Grand Assembly (Loya Jirga) of Republic of Afghanistan.
On that day, our national leader's photos were visible on each and every corner of the city. Slogans of "long live our leader, His Highness Mohammad Dauod" were heard everywhere in Kabul City. This march was demonstrating nation's fondness and sentiments towards their leader.

Democratic system is a system where nation is involved in choosing its self-determination. People of Afghanistan are participating in determination of their fate by electing their representatives for Loya Jirga; and are happy with republic system's free thoughts and liberalism as well as their awareness and wise diligence.

When a huge crowd of Kabul residents, the number of which was more than thousands of people, were crossing from 26th Saratan Avenue, leader of revolution came across marching crowd - this national and progressed movement. He was welcomed by people by expressing their feeling and showering flowers on him. The founder of republic also expressed his appreciation towards these cordial and patriotic feelings of residents of Kabul.
... and to bring justice in Afghanistan. Now such an environment is present that all Pashtoons have power. Meanwhile you all are witness that our national leader His Highness Mohammad Dauod is forming Loya Jirga.
Now we are in historic city of Kandahar. People's happiness, excitement and slogans are like thunder of spring and are enunciating about bright future. Wherever the hearts get together, fight and separation vanishes. This scene is mark of unity between Republic of Afghanistan and the nation. Any government that is established on strength of nation, remains for longer and no power can obstruct its way. Aware public of Republic of Afghanistan are heroes of national sovereignty and republic is witness of people's apparent role in process of magnificent and relieved society.
Democratic nationwide elections in all constituencies of the country are sign of good intention of Republic of Afghanistan. At this time our national great assembly or the republic's first ever Grand Assembly (Loya Jirga) is taking place, which is a result of our people's hard and warm efforts. This assembly is a sign of full and final support of people in path of development and strength of country through lots of infrastructural, economic and cultural activities to show their responsibility and oneness.
We proceed further, as we have opened our path by removing obstacles from very beginning with our success and firm decision; and we are sure that we will achieve destination of our goal with our firm resolution.
In Kandahar City thousands of people altogether took our leader's name and prayed for his health and wellness. We would overcome the troubles under the unit of developed forces with our strength and unity and would come closer to our goals. Our wishes for development and progress of country are never ending. We proceed towards this long but ending path and fulfill our national republic's development desires.
Formation of Grand Assembly (Loya Jirga) is a traditional custom of our nation throughout the history. Our nation has always approached these gathering for ascertaining their destiny and selecting path of their movement. They have solved their problems and disputes through these gatherings in democratic and humanitarian manner. Today people of Herat have gathered here to follow the direction of republic and progressive government, so that they select their representatives for participating in the first ever Loya Jirga of the republic based on their determination and the objective that is in their benefit.
This republic's Grand Assembly will determine the constitution of Afghanistan which is the most important law of our national life. GroupWise slogans of people of Herat that says "long live His Highness Mohammad Dauod" and "ever lasts our beloved Afghanistan" are waving on historical monuments of this beautiful city. We wish that very soon our motherland - beloved Afghanistan becomes wealthy and evergreen with public plans of republic and unity of brave and patriotic people of this country; and with strong and successful steps, goes towards progress in the coming centuries, among the developed countries of the world.
We reach Mir Bacha Kot together with you. This scene that you are watching is another example of unity of Afghan republic country's government and people. People of Mir Bacha Kot would come to the constituencies with slogans of "long live our republican leader" and "may Afghanistan remain evergreen" and would select the representative of their choice.
In Shakardara District also people gathered like all other parts of the country to select their representatives for the first Loya Jirga of democratic progressive system. These slogans "may Afghanistan remain everlasting" and "long live our national leader His Highness Mohammad Dauod" had filled the atmosphere.
Protection of the national sovereignty and existence of fulfillment of revolution's aims; successful implementation of fundamental transformation of republic; and national interest of the country and great reconciliation and a progressive political organization will be drafted in Afghanistan's constitution. Afghan people are all representatives of these mentioned issues.
