Summary: This short film explores themes of migration, sartorial style and freedom in the life of a female to male trans-gender. The film was produced as a part of the Bengaluru Pride Short Film Project, 2010.

We present four short films made from a unique community project in Bengaluru this year. As a part of the Bengaluru Pride and Karnataka Queer Habba, we brought together 15 people from the Sexuality Minority community (lesbians, gays, kothis, hijras, female to male transgenders) who have had no experience in film making previously. Three professional film makers who have worked with the community before, Deepu, Jayashree and Siddharth Chadda, came forward to train, help, and guide them through the entire process.
Over a period of two months, the group of 15 went through basic workshops on camera work, film techniques, scripting, editing etc. They also identified four themes to make these films on, and divided themselves into four teams. Each team came up with the story and script for their film, as well as the conceptualisation of the scenes, with guidance from the three filmmakers. The themes of the films were (1) lesbian relationships (2) disability and sexuality (3) gay cruising and (4) issues faced by female to male (f2m) transgender people. One of the aspects of this project which made this unique is that the gender identity and sexuality of the participants in each film were fairly diverse. Thus, a gay male, in the process of making a film on f2m, became intimately acquainted with the issues as well as the community, and so on. One of the aims of Bengaluru Pride was indeed to foster precisely this kind of interaction and understanding between various communities within the Sexuality Minorities.
Since all four films were produced by Bengaluru Pride and Karnataka Queer Habba through a common process, and we feel that this process, described above, is integral to the final product, we would like to submit all four short films together as a package.
These four films were funded partly through Bengaluru Pride and Karnataka Queer Habba 2010 (through donations from individual towards the festival) and partly through equipment and other resources lent free of charge by the Deepu, Jayashree and Siddharth and their associates. They were screened together for the first time on Nov 24th as a part of Bengaluru Pride celebrations.
