Summary: Footage from WI City TV, which was a pirate cable TV channel that ran in Shivaji Nagar, Bangalore in November 2005. Paul Keller falls in love with Shivaji Nagar. He bikes around clicking photographs of cows, painted signs and 'good question' posters from the World Info poster campaign. He falls off the bike and drops his camera. It needs to be repaired. He takes it to a Canon Authorized Service Center and is told that it will be sent to Delhi for an estimate and that alone will take a week. In one small lane near national market, paul meets his master and his camera is repaired the 'kaam chalao' way in twenty minutes for rupees two hundred only.Highlights include: A local translation of some of Sebastian Luetgert's, 'Good Question' posters, Pauls biker music video and Messiah Ajith's born again gift. Paul's Fall has a descriptive Voice Over which was written by Shaina Anand and recorded by Gaurav Chandelya in one smooth take.

Everybody chants "I-T city, I-T city", "I-T corridor", "I-T city highway"... A large part of the city's spending goes toward I-T. All the politicians and developers are crazy about I-T. These are the kinds of questions that this festival will address.
Think about it, and tell me the name of one person you know who has purchased software worth $300. If we Xerox some notes for a college exam, then will the Xerox-man and I be considered criminals?
If I help a friend , who has very little pocket money by burning a VCD copy of his favorite movie, are we both criminals?

In his anxiety to document the posters and hoardings plastered all over Shivajinagar he fell off his bicycle and broke his camera. It was eventually fixed by Ajith, the eponymous proprietor of a small repair shop, situated in a tiny lane between National Market and Bajaj Market. His search for a camera repair shop and the final quick and dirty &lgt;i&rgt;kaam chalao&lgt;/i&rgt; fix to his problem was filmed by Gaurav Chandelya. The next day Paul re-enacted the missing parts of the story. He was shot biking down Queens road, pausing to take photographs of cows, and wall signs and the "Good Question" posters. The faked bike fall is unconvincing, as Paul was wary of breaking his camera again.
VO: Commentary in Hindi.

Malleshwaram, 5th cross
Paul dialed information and got the number for the official Canon service center. He reached Malleshwaram, 5th cross.
Sorry, we took long to find the place.
You've not closed na...&lgt;i&rgt;Chalo&lgt;/i&rgt;
Paul got the address for a Canon authorized service center in Malleswaram. It was almost closing time when he got there; their office was located on the first floor of a residential building, a Canon hoarding hung on the façade and on the door, legitimizing the presence of a 'front office'. The secretary greeted Paul and Shaina and took them back down, through a small alleyway into another building, a 'back office'. Epson signage adorned the walls.

The technician informed Paul that the whole body part would need to be replaced, the camera would have to be sent to Delhi just for the estimate and that alone would take a week. He also hinted that it could be 'fixed', but left the space between his authorized service and his legitimate service in abeyance.
Yes we can fix it.
PL: My question is, how much would it cost and how long would it take?
If you have a broken part then it takes time, sir. For this, you know, we will have to send it to Delhi.
PL: You'll have to send it to Delhi? And how long does that take?
It takes a weeks time.
PL: Weeks time. Do you have any idea how much it would cost?
They will give the estimate.
PL: Any ballpark figure?
This is the outer case.
PL: You will have to replace the whole outer case.
It takes time. It has to go to Delhi and come back.
Oh no! This means Paul won't be able to use his camera.
He won't be able to take pictures of the World Information Conference.

Amsterdam
Bajaj Market, Bangalore
National Market, Bangalore
Paul knows a VCD seller in Amsterdam, from whom he had bought the Maqbool CD even before it was released. The same guy had told him about National Market in Bangalore. Paul reached Bajaj Market.
PL: Do you repair cameras?
Hello.
Only sales, no repairs.
PL: Do you know who repairs?
Nest market. Shop no 27.
PL: In National Market?
S.L Plaza in the next complex.
PL: That way.
That side.
Paul reached the international market of goods and services near Majestic Bus stop. Paul had been told of this place by a bootlegger in Amsterdam who had sold him a copy of Maqbool (Bollywood adaptation of Macbeth). He was directed to National Market by a shopkeeper.

In National Market shops in most arcades had shutters down, probably because the cops had leaked out information about a routine raid; part of their "protection" plan that comes at a high 'weekly' cost. A camera repair shop.
But I can't do it now. Bring it on Monday, I'll do it then.
PL: But you can fix it?
Yes, I can fix it very well.
Monday, anytime after 10' o clock, till 10 at night.
PL: And how long does it take?
Minimum two hours or one hour.
SA: Tonight can you fix it?
No, no I'm going home now.
SA: You repair Video Cameras also?
Yes.

PL: I didn't fix it. Just once ten years ago...

Now you cannot remove it?
PL: No.
PL; When I go to the airport, it goes Beep Beep.
SA: That is a problem always now. Everything is high security.
PL: Except the Indian Embassy in Berlin.
PL: They have the guard standing there and it goes Beep Beep, and you walk through and they don't look into your bag, but they wake up from the Beep.
SA: Your name , sir?
Ashgar.
SA: I'm Shaina, this is Paul.
SA: How long since you've had this shop?
14 years.
SA: Wow!
SA: And how did you get all this expertise to repair cameras?
I was in a service center in Dubai. I was working there.
SA: In a service center. Oh OK. We'll come on Monday. You promise you can do it in one hour, yes?
SA: And roughly what do you think it will cost?
Around Rs. 250.
Paul and Shaina talk to the proprietor, who repaired not just film cameras but digital video and still ones. He said he learned his skills at a service center in Dubai, and his brother who still lived there updated his directory of manuals, keeping his service up to date. The camera could be repaired. It would cost Rs 250/- and take a couple of hours. But it wouldn't be done that day as he had a lot of pending orders to finish.

Between National Market and Bajaj Market, in a narrow lane, he found the answer to his problem. Someone has wisely said, "If one searches enough one can even find God."

I'll paste it and give it to him, and it'll work.

I'll join it and give it to you.
SA: Will it work then?
Yes.

SA: OK will you be able to do this now?

SA: That's OK, just fix it.
This got fixed. This problem got fixed.
SA: He says you can go ahead with any hand work you want to do on this.
You don't have a problem?
SA: No we don't have a problem. It should fit right, it doesn't matter if it looks ugly.

Autorickshaws are black, green, yellow and kitschy. Bombay's Kala Ghoda Arts Festival has repeatedly featured gaudily-decorated autorickshaws. Visitors are free to sit in them, pose and take pictures. There's no fuel though; the autorickshaw is stationary. The autorickshaw can be an object in the island city, but cannot ply there. The island city is ruled by four-legged taxis.
