Amar Singh in conversation with a Supreme Court Counsel, talking about women, relationships and his experiences with women through his life. The two are heard having a personal conversation about matters of life
Am: Yes, the line got disconnected. So the one who is very intellectually stimulating, a big personality...
Am: Like Marilyn Monroe. John F Kennedy had an affair with her.
C: Hm hm hm.
Am: A person of that level (?) But there's nothing like it. If you are weak and hollow, then a person who can't hold his balance while walking due to some disease, he will use any stick he can find.
C: Hm hm.
Am: Same is the case with a man or a woman. Who becomes an anchor. Destiny plays a role in it
Am: she was working as an intern. If you read her book, she was the initiator in the sense that... If you meet Hillary, I just met her and I know her very well -
AM: Meet Hillary and you will not blame Clinton for getting attracted to other women. What happens is that, a very successful man gets opportunities in ample measure
Am: And then, there is a limit to his self control and self balance. After all, he is a human.
Am: It happened with Vishvamitra, it happened with Clinton, it happened with Nehru. All these big people are very lonely, hollow. And alone. They keep seeking like a spirits that roams
Am: Even they keep looking for someone who is a soulmate.
Am: Who will share both his joys, pain and gain. Now really sharing, like if he becomes prosperous, there's genuine happiness and if there's a decline, there's genuine sorrow.
Am: Now what happens is we don't get such people. In our life, enemies are enemies and friends are jealous.
Am: The enemy stands tall and even friends aren't friends. They are very jealous.
Am: Then you struggle for infinity levels and thereafter you, how should I say, then you struggle for sustaining that fake success.
Am: By the time you realize what have you done in life, you come to know that you have finished your life. You have not enjoyed anything.
Am: I will not take much of your time. I will tell you one small incident.
Am: I am very much fond of music.
Am: In '72, I purchased my first record player. Which was called Fiesta in 1972. I had lot of time to listen to music and enjoy it.
Am: Today, I have got best of music systems, but I don't have time to listen to music.
C: Which type of music do you like?
Am: Anything: classical, old vintage. Anything and everything.
Am: So... I will also tell you one thing. I was studying in St Xavier's, Calcutta. I was the only boy who was not having any girlfriend.
Am: And nobody used to look to look at me because I was from a middle class, poor family.
[continues] Loreto girls used to... I was not in position to attend them with food in Mogambo and (?). They will probably not respond.
Am: And... after I grew... and... I am not all that young, I have got receding hairline. Now I have become slim, between I was very fat and obese.
Am: Even then I had plenty of women of all ilk and all strata falling all over me. I never... you will not believe... I never responded to them
Am: ...not because I never wanted to but it was my, what should I say, sanket (?) that when I was young, I wanted them, nobody was there.
[continues] Today, they are all there. So are they for me or they are for my - hello? sukhi raho.
Am: All these things are complex in the sense that there are contradictions and complexities. Amount of experiences, sweet and bitter in life.
Am: That's how it is and goes on.
C: I have read that it is also the work of Saturn. If it is a malefic Saturn, that's what decides when your fire is out.
C: Then things comes to you. The same detachment philosophy you spoke about on first day, that is the same thing.
C: It's the same with me. In fact, with me, I have many nice achievements. Supreme Court judges recognize me at this stage.
C: I am not advocate on record. I am a arguing counsel but they recognize me. I can get the orders so easily that it is unbelievable even to myself.
C: The delay of 800 days can never be controlled but generally, the judges are doing it.
C: Justice Variava, he is a hard nut. I don't know what wiring it is with me and him. But as soon as I stand up...
Am: I'll tell you what it is. You are a very... you got a very striking personality. I mean, when somebody looks at you, I am not saying you are exceptionally pretty...
C: No, no.
Am: But you are a very... striking persona. Instantly, people are bound to look at you and think that who you are, what you are.
Am: A mytique is there in this. Hello?
C: Whenever I look into the mirror, I am a ordinary person. [chuckles] I don't see...
Am: Not that. There is a mystique, a presentation of personality. I will call you. There's a meeting starting now.
C: Okay, okay.
Am: Today, if you are free, I will give you some time.
C: Yes sir, today, in fact, I am at home. I am not going to the court.
Am: I will.
C: Please, sir. Thank you, sir.
